TheGreenCarWebsite.co.uk: Gok Wan joins E-list
TV presenter, fashion consultant and author Gok Wan has taken delivery of a new Vauxhall Ampera, joining celebrities like James May, Katy Perry and Tom Hanks in turning to electric propulsion.
Gok Wan rose to fame with his Channel 4 series ‘How to Look Good Naked’ and his Sainsbury’s fashion range, and will now be driving around in the Electron version of the Ampera, which has a 25-50-mile electric-only range before the 1.4-litre petrol engine cuts in to power the electric motor.
“I have to drive a car which gives me flexibility for both long and short journeys because I mix my time between filming on the road and whizzing around London where I live. The guys have told me it is called an extended range electric vehicle, so my new über cool Ampera is not only keeping me green but gets me wherever I want to go – what’s not to love!” said Gok. “Oh and because it’s electric, I don’t have to pay the congestion charge when me and Dolly go on our little trips into town, and you know how much I love a bargain.”
“It is great to have Gok Wan driving the Vauxhall Ampera and we are looking forward to working with him.” said Denis Chick, Vauxhall’s director of communications. “The modern and futuristic look and feel of the Vauxhall Ampera is similar to Gok’s innovative style.”
