My New Hair
Inspired by his own experience, helping a family member who lost her hair during cancer treatment, hairdresser Trevor Sorbie recognised the huge impact this can have on a person’s self esteem. Trevor founded the mynewhair charity to provide national information, helpline advice and support for people experiencing medical hair loss. The charity responsibly trains hairdressers who can give advice on where to obtain a wig, can personalise and cut a wig, through to advice on aftercare following treatment. The charity publishes patient information for the NHS and supports requests from nurses for help.
