I met Gok today, the theatrical, well-manicured guy from the Target ads. He’s pretty hard to miss.
He exceeded my expectations. Super funny. Very entertaining but beyond this, and there’s no other way of putting it plainly, he knew his shit. Back to front.
There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer about fashion (which this is to be expected because he’s stylist, right?). Well yes, however he answered with care, precision and knowledge of the way us females dress. There was a really nice feeling in the room, like Gok ‘got me’.
I told him cheekily that I did need to see WAY more options for maternity wear at Target (being 20 weeks pregnant, it was a selfish request) and he held my shoulders and said ‘Darlin’ I’m workin’ on it…gimme time’.
Genuine. Fun. Target have got themselves an ambassador that actually does the job that an ambassador should do. Yeh, he’s the face of their latest campaign. But he’s also the heart of it.
I asked him what he thought the TOP 5 STAPLES were of Spring and Summer.

I’ve applied a 1940s American twist, seen in the fit, flared hems, long plunging necklines and billowing fabrics. The separates are endlessly interchangeable and easy to wear for a new look every day of the week. The flared skirts flatter waistlines and the slim line pants subtly skim the hips, whilst elsewhere my trademark hidden support systems work like pure magic. Ladies, this is a workwear collection that works as hard as you do! I hope you like it

It’s Makeover Time!!!
Hey guys, I can’t even start to count how many of you have asked me for a makeover in the past… well… it just so happens that I have a brand new summer show – Gok Live – coming up and I’m looking for ladies just like you to come and have the makeover of your LIVES!!!

My world loves me because:
1) i am always there for my amazing little girl no matter what. But especially when she needs that special hug to send the nightmares away
2) I’m at the end of a phone day or night to my amazing sister who lost her husband this week to cancer. Even if its just to talk rubbish just so I can hear her laugh
3) I’m the worst person to return calls but my friends know that if they need me in an emergency ill drop everything for them
4) it’s now been nearly a year since my last panic attack and I’m starting to finally relax and enjoy what I have
5) because I have gone up (yes up) 2 dress sizes in the last year and a half but I’m proud of my new bum and boobs and saggy belly as I have my precious daughter which was amazing as I had suffered a miscarriage on New Year’s Eve 2010 .

With an impressive five sell-out collections for TU at Sainsbury’s under his studded belt, flamboyant fashion expert Gok Wan is back with a sixth stylish offering.
It is clear that the stylist knows a thing or two when it comes to women’s fashion – last season one of his red wrap dress sold every 24 seconds and the thigh-slimming black jodhpurs in his third capsule collection sold one every minute – but his latest line shows a lot more cool than the previous designs for the supermarket brand.
